Rated 5 out of 5 by StillCantDraw from Great Tutorials I do really like this product and it has improved my drawing skills and knowledge of how to draw. I am horrible at drawing so these videos were very useful. However my drawings still look bad. I think it'll take a lot of practice for my drawings to look like the instructors. I do like the videos as they are broken up into short segments which makes it easy to start and stop. The voice in the video is very relaxing and easy to understand. And the pencils, paper and all the products that came with the kit are quality products. I also like how there are numerous options in the videos so you can draw pets and landscapes in addition to portraits. Recommend.

There are colored pencils, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, graphite pencil, markers, drawing template, sketch pad and redemption code for the online lesson. The online lesson instructions are easy to understand. It gives step by step instructions - which will take me much more practice to be somewhat proficient. Since I am not educated or skilled in drawing, learning different shading techniques is exciting, even if my end result isn't up to par. The art supplies themselves seem to be a nice quality as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by steward1990 from Fun! This is a really fun kit! It comes with a free online lesson to learn how to draw and color portraits. The lessons are easy to follow along with. I am far from being an artist but I was impressed with the simple portrait I was able to create. Does it look like the example? No, not really, but it is by far better than any portrait I've ever attempted before. The kit comes with a nice variety of colored pencils, a sharpener, eraser, a drawing pad, graphite pencil, 2 fine point black illustration markers, drawing template and instruction booklet. This would make a great gift for someone!

You can watch videos guiding you how to use the art supplies in your kit to create your portraits. With a series of videos you will learn to sketch and outline. Once mastered, you follow up with a more detailed sketching like adding features. Next you learn to add colors or tones to build depth to your portraits. Then you build on that with contouring and hatching for texture. Finally, shadowing completes your portrait for a more in depth and realistic portrait.

I remember my fifth grade art teacher looking at me and shaking his head anytime we had to draw something. Lol. Well here I am, older, hopefully wiser, and a little bit less apprehensive when it comes to drawing. Now this set has everything you need, pencils, paper erasers, colored pencils. It also has a drawing template, markers, and a cool instruction booklet that you can easily follow along. The best part is the online lessons. Now I’m drawing everything. My family isn’t it asking me, what is it anymore? Believe me, I know how toddlers feel. If you like to draw and you’re good at it, or if you are a bit…challenged, I recommend this set. It is so much fun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kayley from Pretty cool! I pretty much always get my colored pencils from Prismacolor. It's one of the more affordable "high-end" colored pencil brands. This kit is pretty cool! I think it's a little more "beginner" than I was expecting, but still fun to follow along with. The videos idea is neat too. The videos aren't super long or detailed, but they're still decent. I like the color selection that comes with the kit. The pencils are easy to blend together too. Overall a nice thing to get for a beginner artist!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Juffowup from Great pencil set with an included online lesson Got this for my middle schooler who spends all their spare time doodling - this is effectively a really nice pencil set with some useful extras, that also gives you an access code for an online lesson for beginners focusing on drawing portraits. The supplies are clearly top notch and the online lesson breaks things down well and sets up beginners with the techniques they'll need to practice to really master portrait drawing. Excellent gift for the budding artists in your life!

She really liked the lessons, and said they were helpful-she is actually working on a portrait unit right now, so great timing! She uses the pencils all the time, even takes them back and forth from home to school. We have a lot of Prismacolor products in house already-my daughter will request the products for presents!:). Great set for the artist in your family!
