Prismacolor Premier NuPastel Firm Pastel Sticks features rich, creamy texture needed for blending and shading. That means you enjoy 12 vividly smooth shades with less powdery mess than traditional pastels. Perfect for creating illustrations or tightly rendered drawings, the pastels can be dulled for full coverage or sharpened to a fine point. For use both wet and dry, you can create decadent layers and shimmering effects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chanel from Strong, sturdy and great for large spaces I just have to say I absolutely love these. They are very strong and sturdy and so far I have not had any break on me while using them. Once you get the technique down on how to use these, you can easily get these to blend beautifully as long as you are using the right amount of pressure. Press too hard and it makes it harder to blend. Also these can be used with water but I have not done this so I can not speak to the effect. I like to use these in combination with colored pencil and really helps speed along the process. I highly recommend these as they are very reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ccgebe3 from Great for mixed media work The colors are vibrant on these. They come in various different sizes with multiple shade ranges. It does take some getting used to when blending and layering. It can be a little messy if you use your hands. The pastels don't require too much pressure when applying to paper. These can be used wet or dry, but I have only used them dry AND can't say how well they perform when wet.

Love these they are stronger then normal pastels and glide on paper so well very easy to blend pigmentation is strong and stands out can use it in many ways and the texture feels nice in hands and the packaging stands out from others these are quality and would totally buy over other pastels.

So if you're more experienced with this kind of product then you should get it but if you're just starting out no bueno.
