Description
Prismacolor Premier NuPastel Firm Pastel Sticks features rich, creamy texture needed for blending and shading. That means you enjoy 12 vividly smooth shades with less powdery mess than traditional pastels. Perfect for creating illustrations or tightly rendered drawings, the pastels can be dulled for full coverage or sharpened to a fine point. For use both wet and dry, you can create decadent layers and shimmering effects.

Strong, sturdy and great for large spaces
I just have to say I absolutely love these. They are very strong and sturdy and so far I have not had any break on me while using them. Once you get the technique down on how to use these, you can easily get these to blend beautifully as long as you are using the right amount of pressure. Press too hard and it makes it harder to blend. Also these can be used with water but I have not done this so I can not speak to the effect. I like to use these in combination with colored pencil and really helps speed along the process. I highly recommend these as they are very reliable.

Great for mixed media work
The colors are vibrant on these. They come in various different sizes with multiple shade ranges. It does take some getting used to when blending and layering. It can be a little messy if you use your hands. The pastels don't require too much pressure when applying to paper. These can be used wet or dry, but I have only used them dry AND can't say how well they perform when wet.

Easy to work with
I like these pastels, but I have noticed that they aren’t as boldly pigmented as some others. I also don’t use pastels all that often, so I don’t have too much to compare it to. I think these are a great value and I like having them to experiment with.

Exceeded Expectations
I've had my NuPastels for a while now, and I've never had a negative experience with them. Laydown is smooth and easy, colors are vivid, and the sticks themselves can be used in several different ways. Great product, especially for the price.

Amazing for big art projects
I love using this set for bigger pieces. Definitely makes things easier for me, while still keeping the beautiful colors. The packaging is durable, which is nice considering how much art supplies I have.

My Favorite!
I love these so much! They are vibrant and come in a lot of great colors. The thinner sticks make them so much easier to do fine details. I find myself using these in every art piece I make.

I can't speak highly enough for these pastels! The color variety is phenomenal, more than enough for seasoned artists, while the sticks are sturdy enough for beginners.

I cannot believe you don&rsquo;t sell single sticks anymore! Many artists use a specific palette and only sets are a waste of money! This was a great brand, but do you really expect people to keep buying it after pulling individual sticks?
