Rated 4 out of 5 by nt14_8967 from Boxed sets are great investment I love prismacolor markers but not chisel sets. I prefer the thin side with brush side instead. Many who use the chisel sets are into basic sketching for car models, fashion sketching, very large areas which need blocking in with color. Prismacolor is excellent so I give this 4 stars yet the actual version is not my particular favorite. It’s about what each person prefers…. (You can also buy them individually to try which type of marker you prefer, although a large purchase of individual markers is more expensive. It doesn’t hurt to only try 2 though to see a difference. Just a thought) good luck!

One side is a large chisel point, which is so versatile and can be used to make big bold strokes or just use the point to make more detailed finer lines. The other side is a fine point which can be used for detailed work. The colors are so pretty and versatile. You can vary the shade by pressing lighter/harder or going over it again for a darker look. These markers are also pretty thick, which makes them comfortable to hold and use for longer periods of time. They look great on paper and do not bleed through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Deb F from Excellent Markers! I’ve been using Prismacolor products since I was a teen, I’m way past those years now, but I still color and draw. I never got the chance to use Prismacolor markers though until now and I am in love. I love the dual ends that allows for thin or thick lines or filling in. The ends of the markers have a thick or thin line so you know which end you’re opening. The colors are bold and bright and you don’t get those annoying stripes that you get coloring with subpar markers. I’ll never go back to regular markers again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MommieKim from Vivid colors - great markers! These are definitely not the plain old crayola markers that everyone buys. These colors are beautiful and seem to last. We have used them quite a few times with no dry out in sight. My favorite part about this set is that it's basically two for one. On one end of the marker is a thick tip and the other end is skinny. This way you can use your markers for different projects and not have to buy two sets. I would recommend these markers to the artist or the kid at heart that wants to color to relieve stress!

In class we used these for mixed media rendering along with the Prismacolor pencils. The markers are dual ended and the largest set has a ton of variety—even with the gray shades. One of my favorite tricks was applying a colored marker to a clear transparency sheet and picking up a bit of the color with the chisel tip of the colorless blender. This allowed more precision shading and color variation.

On the dual tipped markers, there is a little spot on the label that indicates the number of the Prisma colored pencil that matches the marker. 

For example: I&rsquo;m looking at marker &ldquo;Mulberry&rdquo; PM-53. The label says MATCHES PENCIL 995. My markers are older. Maybe they don&rsquo;t do this anymore.
