Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to draw with These Prismacolor colored pencils are an absolute dream to work with! The pigmentation is incredibly rich and vibrant, laying down smooth, intense color with minimal effort. I'm particularly impressed with their blendability; colors layer beautifully, allowing for seamless transitions and stunning depth in my artwork. Despite their creamy texture, the durability of the leads is surprisingly good, holding up well without constant breakage. The variety in this 24-color set is excellent for starting out or for general sketching, offering a fantastic range of hues. Even the packaging is sturdy and keeps the pencils well-organized. They truly elevate the coloring experience!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for learning and casual use, but not ideal f The Prismacolor Scholar set is a great entry-level option. While it doesn’t quite match up to professional-grade pencils, it performs impressively for the price. Ideal for students, beginners, or anyone experimenting with colored pencil techniques. If you’re used to the buttery smoothness of Prismacolor Premier pencils, the Scholars will feel a bit drier and more resistant to blending. These pencils aren’t designed for professional archival work, so colors may fade over time if exposed to light. Available in sets ranging from 12 to 60 pencils, there’s a good range of vibrant, usable colors for school projects and basic illustrations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for beginners Great for Beginners & Blending Practice! I’ve been using the Prismacolor Scholar 24-pack and it’s honestly a solid set for beginners or casual artists. The pencils are creamy, blend smoothly, and the colors show up nicely on paper. They’re softer than typical student-grade pencils, so you can layer and shade easily. You get a good range of colors for sketching, journaling, or coloring—but I wish there were more skin tones or deeper hues. Also, the tips can break if you press too hard, so go light-handed. Overall, they’re a great entry point if you’re not ready to splurge on the pro version. I’ve loved using them to play with color combos and soft gradients!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality for beginners and hobbyists! I’ve really enjoyed using the PrismaColor Scholar 24-pack. The pencils have rich pigment, blend beautifully, and are much smoother than many student-grade brands. They’re soft enough for layering but not too fragile — a nice balance for sketching and coloring. I also love the color range in this 24BK set — it has all the essentials without overwhelming choices. The packaging is sturdy and keeps everything in place. A few colors wear down faster due to their softness, but that’s expected. Perfect for beginners, teens, or casual artists looking for vibrant results without the pro-level price tag. Would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional level results I've been using the Prismacolor Scholar Colored Pencils for a few weeks now, and I'm thoroughly impressed! The pencils have a creamy texture that makes them a dream to blend, and the color payoff is incredibly rich and vibrant. I love that the leads are soft enough to create smooth transitions, but still firm enough to hold a sharp point for detailed work. The range of colors is also excellent, with some unique and nuanced shades that really make my artwork pop. Overall, I'd highly recommend these pencils to anyone looking for high-quality, versatile colored pencils that will deliver professional-level results.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Falls flat I can see why this product was made and kind of a cool concept just falls flat to me. I have dabbled with many kinds of writing calligraphy being a big one which is kind of what I thought this product was more geared too but once opened up that is not the case. Although has an awesome pen for it the others are just standard. Especially the thicker. I found it kind of rough using them. The fill in marker is cool but pretty much a sharpie. I would say the pens/pencils write good and still inked up. Overall if wanting a convient collection this is good but just not for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great set for artists and older children! I was looking for a nice set for my 6th grader, needed more pigment for someone that has issues with pencil pressure and fine motor skills. These were really nice without breaking the bank and allowed more detail since they were softer than what I could pick up at Wal-mart without being too delicate. I did not see any quality issues with splitting or anything else that I read about in some reviews. A good sharp pencil sharpener really goes a long way these though. Think that is the key to any sharpener really. I did use an electric pencil sharpener at 1st but those can really shave off a lot with these so I got out a tiny hand 1 from this compass math set I had which worked surprising well.
