Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite color pencils (amd favorite water color medium too!) I was already a HUGE fan of the regular Prismacolor pencils- but the water color/soluble pencils are AMAZING! One of my favorite things about Prismacolor pencil sets is the tins they come in. They come in so handy when trying to organize what's needed for a specific piece or for travel. The water-soluble pencils cores are so soft, vibrant, and smooth! (They blend BEAUTIFULLY with a colorless pencil, too! ) Just like water color paints, all you need is some brushes and water and you can create a beautiful watercolor work of art. I've always been a Prismacolor fan, and I don't think that'll stop anytime soon!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice set These Prismacolor water-soluble pencils are a dream for artists who love working with vibrant colors and blending techniques. The colors are rich and layer beautifully, and when you add water, they transform into this stunning, paint-like effect that’s so satisfying. They’re great for both detailed work and bold washes, making them versatile for various styles. If you’re into mixed media or want to experiment with watercolor effects, these are definitely worth adding to your collection!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for students of all ages! I am a licensed art teacher of 6+ years and I absolutely LOVE Prismacolor's water soluble cored pencils. I use them at every painting event for both kids and adults at a variety of venues, because of their mess free nature. Every time I show students how to use these, they are amazed at how much quality can be packed into a colored pencil! I would highly recommend to anyone who might be thinking about trying out a water soluble colored pencil for their own art.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and easy to use pencils to create beautiful watercolor art I received a pack of these watercolor pencils as a bonus when purchasing a traditional Prismacolor Verithin set of pencils. They are so much fun to use! Effortlessly create beautiful watercolor style drawings with the precision of a colored pencil. Colors blend together well when water is added. Pencils are well pigmented for a great color payoff. Great to travel with!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Watercolor for beginners I love the idea with these pencils. It’s all about technique, which you learn as you go. Just make sure you are using the right kind of paper. They come in a metal packaging which is durable for on the go art.i love that this can be used with or without water. Make sure you have the right paper. These have lasted me a long time and don’t lose anything over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A designer must have As a designer, watercolor pencils is a must have. I have tried a whole lot of different brands, but this one got me. I have sensory issues and these pencils are just extremely soft to use, the colors are great, it blends nicely, and after adding the water the colors remain vibrant (which doesn’t really happen with some other brands).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing These colored pencils are not for beginners these are definitely for avid artist. They will work for all different types of art, but they are a little pricey compared to Crayola. The the pigment of these color pencils is amazing and the fact that you can add a little water to create watercolor and blend is even better

Thank you for reaching out to us.

This can happen if the pencil strokes aren't fully blended when water is applied, or if the pencil pressure was uneven. Here are a few tips to help improve the blending and reduce the visibility of lines:

Light Layering: Apply color in light, even layers. This helps avoid leaving deep lines or ridges in the paper, making blending with water easier.

Blending Techniques:

After applying the pencil, use a clean, damp brush to blend the color. Gently work the water over the pencil marks in a circular motion to soften the lines and achieve smooth gradients.
Don’t oversaturate the brush with water; too much can leave streaks or cause uneven blending.
Pre-wetting the Paper: For a smoother wash, lightly wet the paper before applying the colored pencil. This helps the color dissolve more evenly, preventing noticeable lines.

Use Soft Pressure: When applying the pencil, use soft, consistent pressure to create a uniform layer of color. Pressing too hard can embed lines into the paper, making it harder to blend them out.

If you continue to see noticeable lines after blending, it could also be related to the texture of your watercolor paper (cold press paper has more texture, while hot press paper is smoother and might result in fewer visible lines).

If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via our Contact Us form on our website.
