Works well

Awesome for blending
My daughter is a budding artist (aren't they all at that age!) and we got these to go with her sketch pencils for art classes she is taking. It does just what it's supposed to do and cleans up easily as well. My daughter loves it!

Nice addition to Prismacolor pencil set!
My daughter is enjoying experimenting with these blender pencils. They work really well with the soft core Prismacolor pencils she already has. They're helpful for softening edges and add beautiful dimension to her drawings!

This works great with blending solid colors. I feel as if this works good at blending only one color and is not good to use when your building color on top of color as it does not blend all colors. It does blend well though.

I received this product a couple weeks ago and liked what I saw out of the package. I am able to use these pencils to shade and fade in and out on drawings. These pencils have a nice color to them and the lead is very soft.

Blenders
These color blenders work well to blend Prismacolor pencil drawing colors. They tend to be quite firm so I prefer to blend with a lighter color pencil like white, light gray, light blue, light yellow, light green etc.

Not useful or worth purchasing
Not ideal for blending pencils. Alcohol with a a-tip or the prismacolor colorless blending marker is best (the marker is basically alcohol in a marker form)
These pencils leave divot marks on papers and are useless.

Blending tool for waxier colored pencils
Great blending pencils, but only for waxier colored pencils. Works well with prismacolor premier pencils. It will leave a white cast if you use too much of it. Doesn't work well with water-based colored pencils.

Has faults
If you're looking to blend solid colors or something, I'm sure it's fine. I, however, tend to build colors on top of each other in gentle layers until I get the color and texture I'm looking for. If you take your work seriously and have a similar technique, do NOT use these blenders. It makes sense after the fact, but it will primarily blend the color you laid on the surface last, entirely changing your drawing. It also makes things much harder to erase, correct, or adjust (like trying to go back over it to fix the color). I would recommend doing many small drawing with different colors, techniques, and so on and then practicing with these blenders. Don't ever use this blender for the first time on a drawing you care deeply for or in which invested a lot of time. You will alter the drawing in ways you did not intend.
Keep in mind that this is basically clear wax that will smear the pigment sitting on the top of the page. If that doesn't sound okay with you, this is not the product for you. It might work well for many people, but it did not work out like I personally hoped.

Hello. Thank you for your question. A fixative isn&rsquo;t required when using the Prismacolor Premier&reg; Colorless Blender Pencil, but many artists choose to apply a workable or final fixative to help protect their finished piece from smudging, wax bloom, or surface abrasion. This is a personal preference and depends on how the artwork will be displayed or handled. For long‑term display, framing behind glass or acrylic is recommended. It helps shield the artwork from dust, humidity, and UV exposure, all of which can affect colored pencil pieces over time. Just be sure to use a mat or spacers so the surface of the artwork doesn&rsquo;t touch the glazing. If you prefer to display the piece without glass, a high‑quality final fixative can offer some protection, but it won&rsquo;t be as durable as framing behind glass or acrylic.
