Tip for the taking:Drag'n'slide

View All Tips »

First for shading you would want the ebony pencil that is worn down (Just on a peice of scrap paper keep using the same side til it is dull/flat) at first you would want to drag a bit on the paper then continue til it turns into a sliding motion that you can replicate (different pressure for each person) this can be used also for shadows. Sketching pencils are different for everyone I have a very flexible wrist so this tip may be difficult to replicate but here is the start of it make your forearm and your hand 90° to each other and grip the pencil and slide the pencil in a circular motion at the pivot point of your wrist. This technique is very basic for people to start sketching with hope it helps. ^_^
